Golden Age Club meeting Tuesday

AUBURN — The Immaculate Heart of Mary Golden Age Club monthly meeting will be on Tuesday, June 9, at Sacred Heart Church.

Social hour will be at 11 a.m. with lunch provided by Kentucky Fried Chicken following. Reservations are required.

NEW GLOUCESTER — The Mary Dillingham Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, at Opportunity Farm on 215 Gloucester Hill Road. Those who plan on attending should bring a bag lunch and prepare to craft with Wilda Lewis. Prospective members are welcome.

The decline of the American church examined at Lifetree Café

LEWISTON — The closing of thousands of churches nationwide and a steady decrease in church attendance will be discussed at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 11, at Lifetree Café, 1919 Lisbon Road.

The program titled “Has God Left the Building?” features filmed interviews with several experts on the American church, including Steve Hewitt, a writer for American Church Magazine.

Admission to the 60-minute event is free. Snacks and beverages are available.

Lifetree Café is a place where people gather for conversation on life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.

Danville Junction Grange to hold dinner, meeting

DANVILLE — Members of Danville Junction Grange will dine at Lotus at 5 p.m. Thursday, June 11. Those people not signed up, but who wish to come, should call Thelma Quimby at 207-312-9659 to make a reservation.

The business meeting will take place at the grange hall at 7 p.m. There will be an election of officers for the ensuing year. Members are reminded to bring coupons for the troops. All members and guests are welcome to attend.

Excelsior Grange to hold Quilting 101

POLAND — Excelsior Grange will sponsor a two-day workshop for beginning quilters from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, June 13 and June 20, at the Grange Hall at 446 Harris Hill Road.

The cost will be $25 for both days and will include lunch. Registration is required.

The workshop will teach rotary cutting, quilt piecing by machine, how to measure for triangles, machine quilting and binding. After the second session, participants will have a completed table runner. Participants may bring personal sewing machines, and should bring coordinated cotton fabrics.

Masonic bean supper is June 13

DURHAM — A Masonic bean supper is set for 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at 663 Royalsborough Road.

The Masonic Lodge is located on Route 136 across from the River Park.

The Prices are $7.50 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 5 to 12, and free for children younger than 5.
