LIVERMORE FALLS — Residents will vote for two selectmen and act on a proposed $2.37 million budget next week. Polls will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Town Office.

Voters will be asked whether to finance up to $229,000 for a highway plow truck and a pickup plow truck, and to take $25,000 from surplus to remove a dangerous building at 22 Gagnon St.

If voters approve financing the plow trucks, the Board of Selectmen will hold a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10, to authorize the purchases.

Voters will act on a property maintenance ordinance and an updated Shoreland Zoning Ordinance. A stricter property maintenance ordinance was defeated last year. The current proposal, which would cover the village area, has fewer restrictions.

The proposed municipal budget is up about 1.5 percent from last year.

Most money articles are the same or slightly more than this fiscal year, which ends June 30. There is an $11,000 increase for the Police Department, which includes the purchase of a new cruiser; $95,470 for the Fire Department, which is the same as this fiscal year; $203,323 for administration and supplies, the same as this year; and $349,350, for public works, down about $3,000 from this year.

The request for Treat Memorial Library is up $50, to $62,718. Paving remains the same at $120,000 and recreation is down about $2,500.
