DIXFIELD — The Regional School Unit 10 board honored 11 retiring board and staff members at a supper Monday night.

Each honoree was presented with a plaque and described by someone who either worked with them or knew them well.

The longest serving board members were Bertha “Betty” Barrett of Mexico, who resigned in January 2014, and Peter Zanoni of Mexico, who is retiring this year. Both served on the former School Administrative District 43 board.

Other former board members cited were Tracey Higley of Rumford, Lolisa Windover of Peru and Shawn White of Hartford.

Staff members honored were special education teacher Vicki Amoroso, Assistant Superintendent and Curriculum Coordinator Gloria Jenkins, Mountain Valley High School educational technician Jane Doucette, health educator and coordinator Kathy Sutton, Buckfield Junior-Senior High School teacher JoAnn Douglass and Meroby Elementary School teacher Andrea Bernard.
