BUCKFIELD — Despite efforts by supporters of Martha Catevenis to launch a write-in campaign for selectman, Maida Demers-Dobson, the only candidate on the ballot, handily won election Tuesday.
Demers-Dobson received 121 votes to Catevenis’ 58.
Catevenis previously said she decided not to run for re-election since she didn’t have time to manage a campaign.
Demers-Dobson beat Catevenis by an even larger margin of 133-44 for a three-year term as assessor. Town Manager Cindy Dunn previously said Demers-Dobson can serve in both positions simultaneously.
Voters approved the Regional School Unit 10 budget, 109-85.
