Marilyn Regina Cook

1936-2015

Marilyn Regina (Mosher) Cook entered into rest May 24, 2015, at Northside Hospital, St. Petersburg, FL. with her loving family by her side. She was born in Farmington, ME on April 12, 1936 to Bertha Geneva Ridley and Reginald Horace Mosher.

She graduated from Jay High School in 1954. Growing up she worked part time pumping gas for her father at his garage and at a sporting camp in Rangeley, ME. Following graduation, she worked for Turner & Ridley where she met and married her husband Richard on Aug. 11, 1958. She later worked with her husband at Agway, Inc. as his secretary.

She became a member of Washburn Chapter #52, O.E.S. in Livermore, ME on Nov. 17, 1959 later affiliating with Bethlehem Chapter #36, O.E.S. on Jan. 17, 1980. She served as Worthy Matron to Bethlehem Chapter for two years in 1984 and 1985, receiving her life membership on March 18, 2010.

In 1986, she retired with her husband, wintering at Settlers Rest RV Park in Zephyrhills. She was active in many park activities, serving as Treasurer for many years. She sang in the choir, was an active member of Bible study, and was supportive of Hospice and the visiting Seminary students that came to the park each Sunday during the season.

Marilyn and her husband raised seven children. She also helped with raising two grandsons and many other children benefited from her care.

She is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Richard, her parents, and an infant older sister, Joanne.

She is survived by her seven children, Donna Rowell and her husband Larry of Hartland, ME; Douglas Cook and his wife Mary of Pittsfield, ME and Rockledge, FL, formerly of Livermore Falls, ME; David Cook and Pixie Nolan, Belfast, ME; Debra Cook, St. Petersburg, FL; Diane Howard and her husband David, Myakka City, FL.; Darlene Campbell, Townsend, Mass.; and Richard Cook, Jr. and his wife Jodi of Corinna, ME. She is also survived by her sisters Judy Lane and her husband Raymond of North Jay, ME and Linda Therrien and her husband William of Jay, ME; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

An Eastern Star service will be held on July 26 at 2 p.m. at the Village Cemetery, Peltoma Ave., Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethlehem Chapter #36 ESTARL, c/o Cynthia Lewis, 360 Somerset Ave., Pittsfield, ME 04967 or to the Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, FL. 33670 in Marilyn’s memory.

Graveside service

Oswald J. Henry

Public memorial graveside services, with military honors, for Oswald J. Henry of Livermore Falls, who died on Dec. 6, 2014, will be held Saturday afternoon, June 13 at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery, Livermore Falls. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Center, 308 Franklin Rd. (Rte. 133) Jay, Maine.
