AUBURN — Red Gendron, head coach of the University of Maine’s men’s hockey team, will bring his experience on ice to local youth in a hockey camp this August.

Auburn’s Norway Savings Bank Arena will host the camp for boys 13-18 years of age. Gendron will lead a team of coaches at the camp from his University of Maine staff.

Gendron’s accomplishments include coaching two teams to NCAA National Championship wins as well as an NHL Stanley Cup win as an assistant coach.

The camp takes place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Aug. 17-20. Training includes on-ice and off-ice “chalk-talk” sessions. Registration is open and spaces are limited.
