1927 – 2015

AUBURN — Theresa M. Cyr, 87, of Greene, died Friday, June 12, at the Androscoggin Hospice House with her family by her side.

She was born in Keegan on June 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Arthur and Maryann Parent Morin. Theresa was educated in Keegan schools. She was married to Roland J. Cyr in 1945, who died Oct. 13, 2008, also at the age of 87.

Theresa was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, Ladies of St. Anne’s Sodality and Dominican Associates. She worked in the textile industry at the Cooan Mill. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning, cooking, family get-togethers, playing Farkel (dice game), word search, but most of all caring for her family.

Our mom will be remembered for her love, patience, a bright smile, sparkling blue eyes, playing the accordion, hard work, praying the rosary daily and loving her husband to the end.

She is survived by her four daughters, Sr. Dolores (Rolande) N. Cyr O.P. of Sabattus, Gloria M Cormier of Greene, Louise M. Moreau and husband, Daniel, of Greene, Susan Cyr of Monmouth; four sons, Robert R. Cyr Sr. and wife, Terri, of Greene, Rosaire J. Cyr and wife, Linda, of Lewiston, Joseph L. Cyr and wife, Denise, of Lewiston, John J. Cyr and wife, Belinda, of Greene; grandchildren, Robert Jr. and Nicole, Patty, Gary, Chris and Jamie, Dr. D.J. and Kara, Shane Danielle and Ray, Matthew, Amanda, Nicole, Chantelle and Jamie, Nickolas, Patrick, Shohn, and Ashley; seven great-grandchildren, four sisters, Marguerite Courtemanche, Anita Giguere, Marie Dustin, Rita Chapman and husband, Eddie; and her brother, Fernand Morin and wife, Gaytaene.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Cyr; a sister, Jeannine Giguere; five brothers, Antoine, Lionel, Percy, Norman and Adrien Morin.
