PORTLAND — Pittsfield-based Cianbro said it plans to hire 300 people in the coming weeks after bringing on another 300 for construction work starting this summer.

The company said that it plans to hire workers in various construction trades for Maine projects including the replacement of the Sarah Long Bridge in Kittery, the installation of tissue machines at Woodland Pulp in Baileyville and the expansion of the International Marine Terminal in Portland.

The company said the hiring is driven by projects it’s won in the state and elsewhere, like a bridge repair contact in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and electrical substation work in New Hampshire.

“Cianbro has had the good fortune of contracting a substantial amount of work, and we are actively pursuing men and women to join our team to fulfill the needs of those contracts,” Cianbro Corp. President Andi Vigue said in a news release late Monday.

The company said it’s seeking pipe welders, pipe fitters, millwrights, ironworkers and riggers, electricians, construction foremen in all trades, superintendents, carpenters, concrete specialists, mechanical foremen, schedulers and crane operators.

People interested in the available jobs should call the company’s job line, 866-242-6276, the company said.
