Glenwood Bangs Farmer

1928-2015

Glenwood Bangs Farmer, “Glen”, 87, of West Farmington, passed away on June 13, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center, Lewiston, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born at home in West Farmington on Feb. 8, 1928, a son of Ellery and Hazel (Brown) Farmer. He received his education in West Farmington and Farmington schools and married Eletrice Stewart of New Vineyard on June 14, 1945. Sunday, Flag Day, would have been their 70th Anniversary.

He was employed at Metcalf Lumber when they were first married, and later worked for Luce Oil Co., which transitioned over the years, and at the time of his retirement, was known as Farmington Oil.

For several years, following his retirement, he enjoyed working part-time for E. L. Vining.

He belonged to the West Farmington Fire Dept., with his dad, beginning in his teen years. He continued with the Department as it joined with the Farmington Fire Dept. on March 3, 1970 and was promoted to Deputy Chief on March 1, 1977. He formally retired on July 23, 1991.

Glen was a past member of the Farmington Odd Fellows and former selectman for the West Farmington Village Corp. He was a member of the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church where he was a past Deacon and also had served on the finance committee.

In addition to being committed to caring and serving his community, he was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and tending his yard. He also enjoyed crafting with wood and kept busy in his “shop” making a variety of items, particularly wooden tulips. He will be remembered for his many acts of kindness, generous spirit and unique ways of caring for his family and friends.

He is survived by his children: Sharon Stevens; Deanne “Deannie” Hyer and her husband, Alton; Glendon “Glendy” Farmer and his wife, Cathy, Gregory Farmer and his wife, Debora; Kimberly Smart and her husband, Gregg; Grandchildren: Eric Stevens and his wife, Marianna; Raquel Caron and her husband, Richard; Steven Farmer, Bethany Miller and her husband, Jared; Lisa Erickson and her husband, Darby; Sara Farmer, Travis Farmer, Chad Farmer, Seth Farmer and his wife Sandee; Michelle Lord, Alan Pomeroy and his wife, Bonnie; Mark Pomeroy, Nichole Lane and her husband, Jeremie; Ginger Farmer, Darcie Thibodeau and her husband, Eloy Gonzales, Jason Thibodeau and his wife, Megan; Randall Thibodeau and his wife, Felicia and Tony Thibodeau; 20 Great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; in-laws, Geraldine Farmer, Carolee and Edward Merrill and Lee Stewart. He also leaves behind many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins who always made his day brighter.

He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife, daughters: Bonnie and Connie and son David; son-in-law Eric Stevens; siblings: Naomi Higgins and her husband, Richard, Maurice Hiscock and his wife Arlene and Lawrence Farmer, Muriel Stewart and Rodney Stewart and his wife Helen Faye.

Yvette B. Hatch Maillett

1925-2015

Yvette B. Hatch Maillett, 90, a former resident of Livermore, passed away Wednesday, June 17, at her home at Park Residences in Waterville. She was surrounded with love from friends and family.

She was born June 12, 1925, in Jay, the daughter of Joseph Therrien and Laura (Guerin) Therrien. Yvette attended school in Jay. She was married to Robert H. Hatch from 1945 to 1986 and they had three children. Robert passed away in 1986. She and Robert were longtime residents of Rumford. They were both active in the Mechanics Institute and skiing communities.

She later was married to Noel Maillett, from 1989 to 2005. He passed away in 2005.

Yvette was a devoted wife and mother, and took great pride caring for her family and home. Over the years, she also worked in several different places: Bath Iron Works Shipyard during World War II, shoe shops, retail and paper mills.

She was a communicant of Saint Rose of Lima in Jay and former member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Yvette enjoyed knitting, crocheting, leather-tooling, card and board games. With her husband, Robert, she enjoyed square and round dancing, skiing, bowling, hiking and fishing. She especially enjoyed summer weekends with family at Cozy Cove on Round Pond.

She was always happy to provide her highly acclaimed chocolate cake for family gatherings. She lived to love and feed her immediate and extended family. With her husband Noel, she enjoyed extensive travel throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Hatch and partner, Michael Osinski, of Lacey, Wash., and Russell Hatch of Waterville; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Laurencell of Newcastle; Noel’s children, Louise Zeigler and husband, David, of Maryland, James Maillett and wife, Margaret, of Maryland; brother, Francis “Red” Therrien and wife, Lou, of Livermore Falls; sister, Claire (Therrien) Parker and husband, Richard, of Livermore; five grandchildren, Liane, Abigail, Benjamin, William and Brady and her husband, Brendan; one great-granddaughter, Clodaugh; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Robert W. Hatch; husband, Robert H. Hatch; husband, Noel Maillett; brothers, Reney, Ronald, Norman, Roland and Leo Therrien; and sisters, Theo (Therrien) Gallant, Rita (Therrien) Labrecque and Jeannette (Therrien) Roy.

MAILLETT — Yvette B. Hatch, 90, of Waterville, died Wednesday, June 17, in Waterville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 20, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Debbie Ann Webber

1963-2015

Debbie Ann Webber, 51, of Chesterville, passed away of natural causes June 15, 2015 at EMMC with her loving family by her side.

Debbie was born Nov. 30, 1963 in Presque Isle, ME the daughter of Daniel and Barbara Buckley. She was one of seven siblings. She spent her childhood growing up on the family farm in Westfield, ME and was a graduate of Presque Isle High School, class of 1982. She went on to study Rehabilitation/Social Services at University of Maine of Farmington.

Debbie moved to Chesterville and raised two children, Kristine and Michael, whom she adored with all her heart. Debbie was a manager at Hilltop LEAF for many years. She would give anything to anyone in need and was always so welcoming and accepting of everyone. She enjoyed singing and making everyone around her laugh with pure joy.

Debbie won the hearts of many simply with a hug and a smile. She could make anyone feel like the most important person in the world, even if she hadn’t seen you in years. Her smile was so beautiful and contagious’ she lit up a room merely by entering a room. She could always be found with her children or fiance, whether it be outside, around the house, or having an exciting day shopping out of town. Debbie enjoyed being surrounded by family. Debbie will always be remembered as a gentle, caring and loyal woman who loved unconditionally and gave without question.

Debbie is survived by the love of her life, Nate Richardson of Chesterville; her children Kristine Webber and Michael Webber of Chesterville; her mother Barbara Buckley of Presque Isle; her siblings: Robert (Tammy) Buckley of Mapleton; Patrick (Sheryl) Buckley of Westfield; John (Susie) Buckley of Westfield; Aaron (Laura) Buckley of Presque Isle. She is predeceased by her father, Daniel Buckley III; sister Bonnie Buckley and brother Daniel Buckley IV.

A Celebration of Life Service for Sylvia Mae Hodgkins who passed on Jan. 15, 2015, will be held Saturday afternoon, June 20, at 1 p.m. from the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, 110 Academy St., Farmington, with Rev. Dr. Susan Crane officiating. Following services, a comfort reception will be held in the church undercroft, hosted by the Hospitality Committee. All are welcome. George A. Farnum, Jr.

Public graveside services for George A. Farnum, Jr. “PeeWee”, who passed on Jan. 29, 2015, will be held Saturday morning, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton, with Rev. David Smith of the Wilton Congregational Church officiating. Full military honors will be provided by Camp Keyes, Augusta. A reception will follow at the Farnum home on Main St., (East Wilton Road) Wilton. Arrangements are in the care of the Wiles Remembrance Centers.

Jack E. Ross

A public memorial graveside service for Jack E. Ross will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Rangeley with Pastor Micah Renihan officiating.
