WAYNE — The Wayne Community Church will hold its annual live and silent auction, celebration and barbecue Thursday to Saturday, July 9 to 11, at 22 Old Winthrop Road.
The festivities begin with an opening celebration from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 9, at the lakeside Ladd House at 505 Main St. A Live Auction will be conducted by guest host Craig Miller from Channel 13. The event will include music, catered refreshments and a chance to stroll the Ladd House gardens. Buy-It-Now auction items will also be offered. A $10 donation is suggested to attend.
The silent auction hours and bidding will begin at the Wayne Church in Fellowship Hall on from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, July 9. Continued viewing and bidding hours are Friday, July 10, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bidding ends at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The pulled pork barbeque, with a vegetarian option, will be Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. as the auction winds down. Auction items will be ready for pick up at 7 p.m. Buy-It-Now prices are available on most items.
Auction items featured include get-away’s in Maine, Virginia Beach, Georgia and South Carolina, theater tickets, boat excursions, Amtrak Downeaster tickets, golf outings, numerous gift certificates for restaurants and retail establishments and other goods and services. Other exciting choices include an hour of personal training, an evening pizza cooking class on brick hearth oven with a local chef, specialty items from all over the state; coffees, gourmet sauces, jellies, wines, salsa, honey, cut flowers, soaps and pottery. Local artist, Dawna Gardner will create an oil portrait of your pet. We will also have our yearly ‘Made in Wayne’ section with artisan crafts, accessories such as leather trimmed hand bags, and food and services for bidding or purchase.
Proceeds of this fundraiser benefit local outreach programs.
