1947 – 2015

NORMAN, Okla. — Judith Tracy Haggerty was born to Justin and Priscilla (Lovejoy) Tracy on Sept. 24, 1947, in Farmington. She entered Heaven on June 16 at the age of 67 at her home in Norman, Okla. She graduated from Farmington High School and enrolled at the University of Maine, receiving her degree in elementary education.

While in college she met and married the love of her life, Charlie Haggerty, on Aug. 9, 1969. Their marriage was for 45 years before she predeceased him.

They made their home in Vermont and Judy taught school as a second-grade teacher. Her other passion in life was horses; she began teaching riding lessons and raising registered Appaloosas. Charlie’s job took them to Oklahoma in 1973. They fell in love with the countryside east of Norman, purchased some land and there began the HY TYMES RANCH. Judy’s love of children continued as she substitute taught at Little Axe. She continued giving riding lessons and raising purebred Appaloosa horses while traveling to horse shows and selling colts.

Judy would take in any kind of stray animal and nurse them back to health. She also did the same for young people that crossed her path in life. Four of those special people were Dotty, Chanel and Lynn, and Robert whom she loved and thought of as her own grandson. They looked to her for guidance and direction, which she provided with love in her heart that lasted a lifetime, as they are all adults now living their lives as Judy’s love for them led the way.

Judy was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Leon Brent Tracy.

Those who survive her include her husband, Charlie of the home; two brothers, Michael Tracy (BJ) and family, Eben Michael, Ethan Paul and Samuel James, Justin Tracy (Judy), and family, Jessica Marie and Wyatt Thomas; brother-in-law, Albert Haggerty (Patricia) and family all of Maine; numerous other relatives and friends.
