PORTLAND — New Evangelization Week, a five-day Catholic youth leadership program for teens, will be held at Saint Joseph’s College in Standish from July 5-9.
The event, sponsored by the Diocese of Portland’s Office of Lifelong Faith Formation, is focused around discipleship and evangelization.
“We are called to be faithful in prayer, service and to the Scriptures,” said Joe Mailhot, the diocese’s youth and young adult ministry coordinator. “At NEW, the participants will learn what it means to be a true follower of Christ and how to share their faith with others.”
NEW is open to high school students, including those entering ninth grade in the fall and recent graduates. The week features daily workshops, small group sessions, Eucharistic Adoration and daily Mass, including a closing Mass with Bishop Robert P. Deeley at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 9. NEW also includes activities, evening socials and the opportunity to make new friends.
The program costs $225, which covers five days of room and board, materials and programming. Financial aid is available. To register or FMI: www.portlanddiocese.org/OLFF/NEW_Registration.
