RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Citizens will open its center Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. between July and August beginning in July.

SMH holding Safe Sitter class
NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital Family Birthplace will hold a Safe Sitter class from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday, June 29, in the Harper Conference Center in the Ripley Medical Office Building, 193 Main St.
Sitters will learn infant and child CPR, how to stop choking, safety for the sitter, how to call for emergency help, babysitting business skills, basic child care skills and how to entertain children while keeping them safe. The classes are geared for students 11 and older.
The fee for the class is $50. A Scholarship in the amount of $15. is available upon request.

MEXICO — Mexico High School Class of 1949 will meet for lunch at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, at Dick’s Restaurant.

Lithuanian Heritage Club to meet
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will have it’s monthly meeting at noon Wednesday, July 1, at Sam’s Italians Shop on Route 2.
There will be a presentation on Sarah Sillars’ Lithuanian stories following the regular meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend.
SeniorsPlus to hold open house in Wilton
WILTON — SeniorsPlus will hold an open house in Wilton to answer any questions or concerns the public may have about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.
It will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, at the Wilton Free Public Library.

LOCKE MILLS — The Greenwood Historical Society will meet on Wednesday, July 1, at 7 p.m. at the Historical building in Locke Mills.
A program will be presented on three of Greenwood’s early residents.

Bethel Outing Club announces race
BETHEL — The Bethel Outing Club will hold the MollOckett Day Classic Race on Saturday, July 18.
This event is a five-mile run or a two-mile walk beginning at 9 a.m. The kids’ one-mile run will start at 8:15 a.m.
Registration is available online at RunReg.com through Thursday, July 16. Participants can also register at the event.
The first 100 to sign-up get a t-shirt. Number pick-up starts at 7 a.m. on the lawn near the Bethel Commons.
Daughters of Isabella hold business meeting
JAY — The Daughters of Isabella 677 from St. Rose of Lima in Jay held its monthly business meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 10.
The women sent a thank you card to Keith Couture for pulling their float in the Memorial Day parade. Sympathy cards were sent to the family of Anna Sawyer and Rita Castonguay for the loss of a brother.
