So we laud a person or business that produces or has produced strong liquor, even though it is commonly known that alcohol is poisonous and has been the root of much human sorrow, misery and even death (Paul Coulombe: Beyond the Pinnacle, June 20 and 21).

On the other hand, we castigate and slander a person or business that produces or has produced prodigious amounts of low cost food staples, and has provided entry level jobs for countless thousands of people.

Figure that one out.
