KINGFIELD — For one day each summer, music resonates through western Maine’s mountains and valleys, drawing thousands to the riverside town of Kingfield. This Saturday, June 27 the Bangor Symphony Orchestra; Rustic Overtones; Dave Rowe Trio; Trina Hamlin; Sidy Maiga, Inana, Sisters in Rhythm and the Western Mountain Trash Can Band will gather for the 13th Annual Kingfield POPS.

From the welcoming sounds of the Western Mountain Trash Can Band to the last echo of a firework grand finale, music will have toes tapping, children dancing and faces smiling. The Kingfield Art Walk, the first ever Kingfield POPS Road Race, Kingfield POPS Festival of the Arts, an introductory guided mountain bike ride hosted by the Carrabassett Valley chapter of NEMBA and other family-friendly activities round out the weekend celebration of music and art.

Through the incredible generosity of donors, like Skowhegan Savings Bank, have made it possible to keep tickets prices the same over the last 13 years.

“We take great pride in supporting Kingfield and surrounding communities,” said John Witherspoon, President of Skowhegan Savings Bank. “The Kingfield POPS brings community, youth and economic development opportunities to Western Maine through providing diverse music and arts programs year round.
