FARMINGTON — Anthony Franchetti had three hits and Evan Roberts went the distance as Franklin County sidestepped Augusta with a 5-1 win in an American Legion game Thursday.

Franklin built a 3-0 lead after three innings and added two more in the sixth.

Ryan and Andrew Pratt each had two hits for Frankly, while Mitchell Caron was Augusta’s multiple hitter and teammate Cam Brochu had a solo home run.

Jackson Silver Post 68 6, Gardiner 5

BETHEL — Jackson Silver Post 68 did its damage in the middle innings as it defeated Gardiner 6-5 in Legion baseball action Thursday night.

Cody Dolloff tied the contest at two in the bottom of the fourth with a two-out, two-run single. Alec Manning belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth as Jackson Silver Post (1-2) scored four times in the inning.

Manning recorded the save, with Kaine Hutchins picking up the win as he came in the fourth inning to relieve starter Gavin Arsenault.

Kyle Fletcher picked up the loss as he went the distance for Gardiner (0-1). He also had a double at the plate.

Tri-Town 11, Smith Tobey 3

POLAND — Tri Town cruised to victory with 12 hits in an 11-3 victory over Smith Tobey in American Legion action.

Luke Johnson had a three-run home run, while Shawn Murphy and Billy Bickford each had a two-run home run in the victory. Matt Rabassco, Kaleb Bridgham, Brandon Hubbard and Ethan Callier all had a double as Tri-Town improves to 2-1 on the season.

Johnson also helped with the victory on the mound as he went five innings. Darren Wood had three hits for Smith Tobey.
