This letter is addressed to the person that ran over one of my chickens on Empire Road in Poland last Sunday.

Thanks for stopping in and letting us know she was squashed out in the road. Only, you didn’t.

People routinely do 55-plus mph in front of my house, which is posted at 35. This time it was a $10 chicken; next time perhaps a bicyclist or a dog walker.

All around me I see people speeding and doing other dangerous things behind the wheel. Remember, all vehicles have a tag. Commercial vehicles sometimes have a phone number on them.

I encourage citizens of all communities to call police or businesses and report aggressive, dangerous driving.
