Mr. Paul Coulombe, subject of the two-part, magazine-length, photograph-laden article on June 20 and 21 is a former Lewiston resident. He became a mega-millionaire after taking control of his wealthy father’s business and has a number of major business projects underway in the Boothbay area.

Mr. Coulombe has bought acres and acres of valuable land and plans to buy much more. He owns a lavish $30 million oceanfront estate.

Mr. Coulombe sounds like a hard working businessman who enjoys spending his money.

I’d like to see a weekly series of articles on various typical Lewiston residents, such as an elderly Lewiston resident struggling to get by, a young person trying to earn money for college, a single mother trying to escape from poverty, a homeschooling family, a school janitor, immigrants facing racism, a homeless family, a minister or other religious leader and her organization’s charity work.

Perhaps there could be an article on an unemployed person, a kindergarten teacher, people who visit food banks, high school dropouts and their lives, a disabled person with difficulties and successes, a Lewiston resident fighting drug addiction, alcoholism, or mental illness, a pediatrician, hungry school-age kids, a family living on minimum-wage jobs.

These sorts of people are interesting and important, too.
