Joseph G.E. Gousse, J.D., has graduated cum laude from the University of Maine School of Law.

At the commencement ceremonies, Gousse also received the Wernick Prize for Legal Writing and was recognized by the Dean and faculty for his work with Native American rights.

While studying at Maine Law, Gousse served as a legal writing teaching assistant, legislative researcher for the Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth and Reconciliation Commission and student attorney for the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office. Gousse also served as an editor and executive board member of the Maine Law Review, in which his work was published. In addition to these experiences, Gousse also served as intern to former U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe.

Gousse is a 2012 graduate of the University of New England who majored in political science and a 2008 graduate of Westbrook High School. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Marc Edward Gousse, of Westbrook, formerly of Lewiston.

Amanda L. Bombard, Pharm.D., valedictorian of the Class of 2015, has graduated from the University of New England College of Pharmacy in Portland.

At the class Hooding Ceremony held May 17 at the Westbrook Performing Arts Center, Bombard was recognized by the Dean and faculty for academic excellence in the program’s two major fields ?of study: Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical Science. Dr. Bombard was also honored as the top academic student in her class for four consecutive years.

In addition to these experiences, she completed pharmacy internships in Massachusetts, Maine and with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Having completed her degree, Dr. Bombard will now be employed as a pharmacist with Rite Aid Pharmacy.

Dr. Bombard is a 2008 graduate of Westbrook High School and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Bombard, of Westbrook.
