I support Ben Chin for mayor of Lewiston because he leads with the values of love, cooperation and solidarity. Most importantly, Ben is unafraid to tackle one of the biggest problems in our city: corporate slumlords.
I met Ben in 2004, when he was a young college student helping raise money for a local anti-poverty organization. From our first conversation, it was clear that Ben was concerned with deep moral challenges in our society. He not only wished to study the ethical solutions to poverty, violence, and racial oppression, but was interested in how we can make these solutions politically possible.
Eleven years later, Ben’s record proves he has been dedicated to that goal. He has fought for Lewiston on issues concerning our voting rights, fair taxes for the working class, and ending discrimination.
I invite voters to embrace this inspiring opportunity and vote Ben Chin for mayor of Lewiston.
