1937 – 2015

AUBURN — Theodorus de la Rue, 78, of Lewiston, died on June 6, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn, with his loving wife by his side.

Ted was born in Bandung, Indonesia, in 1937.

He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School in Bandung, Indonesia, and Bandung Hotel academy on Marine Hotel Operation, sponsored by Holland American Cruises.

Ted enjoyed trips to the ocean, drives in the country, and working on his old turbo-diesel Mercedes, keeping it running even in the coldest weather.

He worked as a housekeeping supervisor for Holland American Cruises, and at many hotels in Maine.

Ted was predeceased by his parents, brothers, and sister, all of Indonesia.

He is survived by his wife, Mary.

There will be no public services.
