PORTLAND — The AARP Maine State office is pleased to welcome a new member to their team, David Torresen, who will serve in the position of Senior Operations Associate.

For the past 11 years David worked at the Center for Advancing Health, a nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, focused on patient engagement. During his tenure at the center, David served as Vice-President for Finance and Operations and was involved extensively in human resources, grant management, event coordination, board relations and editorial work.

Previously, David worked for 12 years as Administrator and Operations Manager at the Washington Blade, the nation’s oldest LGBT newspaper. Since 1997 he has maintained PeggyLee.com, the official website of the late singer Peggy Lee, in collaboration with her family. He grew up in western Michigan, spent one year in Philadelphia and 25 years in Washington. David moved to Portland in January.
