AUBURN — Madeline Dunn Brown, 96, of Buckfield passed peacefully in her sleep Saturday, June 27, after a brief stay at the Clover Manor Health Center.
Born Jan. 6, 1919, in Turner, she graduated from Greeley Institute in 1937.
Madeline married Dwight Wright Brown on June 12, 1940. They raised three children and worked as a couple at Bessey Foods in Buckfield for over 30 years. Later, Madeline worked at Miller Shoe in Norway and finally at the Nezinscot Guild, a sheltered workshop for adults with developmental disabilities, ending her work life at 88 years young.

She loved the Boston Red Sox, the Celtics, knitting, crocheting doilies and dish clothes, cooking and above all, her family.
She received the Boston Cane for being the oldest citizen in Buckfield last year.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, David and Judy Brown of Missouri City, Texas, and Larry and Diane Brown of Buckfield; her son-in-law, Jerald Wiley of Buckfield; grandchildren, Karin Wiley of Saco, Michael Wiley and his wife, Darcy, of Buckfield, Will Brown and his wife, Jill, of Livermore, Nicky Gangolf of Germany, and Michell Hobbs and her husband, Rex, from Tennessee; and great-grandchildren, Janna, Lochlyn, Laurel, Brittany, Mickayla, Hunter and Noah.
