1938 – 2015

LEWISTON — Viola M. Dubois, 77, of Lewiston passed away on Monday, June 29, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center with her family by her side.

She was born in Grand Isle on April 26, 1938, the daughter of Saul and Marie St. Jean Parent. She was educated in Auburn schools and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1957. Viola married her husband, Normand Dubois, on Oct. 17, 1964, and together they raised their family of two children. Viola worked for many years as a key puncher for Patrons Insurance Co. until her retirement.

Viola was a member of Holy Cross Church and the Prince of Peace Parish. She loved to travel to their camp, going out for walks, four-wheeling and snowmobiling with her family. Some of her favorite trips were an Alaskan cruise, the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park. Viola was also a homemaker, raising her family, doing word searches and watching reruns of old game shows on television.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Norm Dubois; a daughter, Cheryl and her husband, George Dycio, of Lewiston; and a son, Brian and his wife, Jennie Dubois, of Newton, N.C.; two grandchildren, Larissa Dycio and Ruby Avato; a sister, Geraldine and her husband, Edward, of Hebron; and two brothers, Rodrique Parent and Melvin Parent.

She was predeceased by a sister, Solange Guay; two sisters-in-law, June Parent and Mariette Parent; and a brother-in-law, Paul Guay.
