Lisbon UMC welcomes new minister
LISBON Falls — Lisbon United Methodist Church announced the transition of pastoral leadership as of July 1 when the Rev. Elizabeth Bachelder Smith will begin her ministry in the church located at 14 School St.
Each year Methodist ministers receive appointments by the Bishop to serve in current or transfer to new churches. Bishop Devadhar’s appointment for the pastor allowed Smith to return to her home state of Maine after serving as minister for six years with Oakdale UMC in West Boylston, Mass. She has served in several Maine churches during her 32 years as minister.
A welcome celebration for the new pasture will be held Sunday, July 5, at 9 a.m.
