OXFORD — The Oxford Hills Christian Academy graduated three young ladies on June 12, highlighting each girl’s specific talent and gifts. All three will depart for college in the fall.
Amanda Komulainen, valedictorian Colleen Kostovick and Laina Pulkkinen celebrated the momentous occasion of the first class to complete all thirteen years at Oxford Hills Christian Academy.
The ceremony, which was held at Hosanna Church, included three former school administrators and the first teachers of this Class of 2015. A slide show of each girl’s life was shared along with a presentation of memories from parents and each girl as well as the giving of awards and scholarships.
Each girl added her own touch to the festivities as Amanda Komulainen shared a dramatic reading of the school history; Laina Pulkkinen moved the audience to tears with the singing of Mylie Cyrus’ “The Climb”; and Colleen Kostovick inspired all with her valedictorian address.
The keynote speaker used a special box of cereal that represented each specific girl as she reminisced about days in the classroom and challenged each girl in moving forward to be a success in life as each continues to grow in relationship with God.
The evening was concluded with the serving of cake and punch while attendees mingled around each girl’s memorabilia display table representing her years of education at Oxford Hills Christian Academy.
