SOUTH PARIS — Celebration Barn Theater will host circus artist Fritz Grobe, mime-dancer Karen Montanaro and improviser and director Jeff Wirth for an evening exploring “The Art of Play” at 8 p.m. on Saturday, July 11.

With a shared passion for improvisation, exploration and collaboration, these three international touring artists will share both stories of their creative processes and some of the performance pieces that have brought them around the world.

Grobe’s background is in theater and circus. He has toured with the Cirque du Soleil spinoff “Birdhouse Factory,” won five gold medals at the International Jugglers Championships and received a Maine Artist Fellowship as artistic director of the juggling and dance ensemble “blink.” Since 2005, he has created Internet videos as part of EepyBird — best known for its videos of exploding Diet Coke and Mentos — which has received four Webby Awards, two Emmy nominations and over 150 million views.

Karen Montanaro is a world-renowned dancer and mime artist, an award-winning choreographer and the innovator of “mimedance,” the fusion of two classical art forms. For more than a decade, Karen toured and taught internationally with her husband and teacher, mime master Tony Montanaro. Karen currently tours the world with her one-woman show entitled “Tanzspiel.” Karen is a teaching artist and offers residencies in movement, mime and dance in public and private schools throughout the United States.

Jeff Wirth is the President of Wirth Creative, a New York-based company that develops interactive story experiences, and the artistic director of the interactive performance ensemble Playing with Reality. Jeff has consulted for Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and Disney Imagineering as well as writing the book “Interactive Acting.” Jeff’s eclectic background also includes ballroom dancing, computer programming and clowning for the Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Celebration Barn is located off Route 117 at 190 Stock Farm Road.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $8 for kids.
