MEXICO — In celebration of its 112th anniversary year, the Mexico Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 163 Main St., will sponsor a Community Country Picnic on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Coffee, muffins and homemade cinnamon rolls will be available at 9 a.m. and hot dogs, chips and beverage for lunch at noon. The “Green Church’s” pulled pork pig roast will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. or until sold out. The meal will include pulled pork sandwiches, chicken, side dishes and homemade pies.

Other events include games for the kids from 9 a.m. to noon; family races from 1 to 3 p.m. with old-fashioned games such as sack races, egg races, three-legged race; face painting; church open house to explore history and architecture; a pie eating contest; and a lawn sale and flea market.

Spaces are still available for the flea market, costing $15 for ten-by-ten-foot space on a first come-first served basis.
