LEWISTON — The St. Vincent de Paul Society awarded scholarships to Idel Kalib, a student at Edward Little High School, and to Drew Masse, a student at Lewiston High School.

Kalaib was a member of the French Club, played tennis and field hockey, was on the Executive Board at ELHS and was active in Seeds of Peace. She volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank and in the Dempsey Challenge. She is the daughter of Aisha Housien. Kalaib will attend Stonehill College and major in biology. Later she plans to enter the medical field.

Masse was active in the chamber and jazz choirs at LHS. He participated in the Center Stage Ensemble for four years where he served as president. He volunteered at many Special Olympics events, the Lewiston District Court, Meals on Wheels, and was a performer at Leeds Community Church. He is the son of Ray and Kim Masse. Masse will attend the University of Southern Maine to study musical theater.
