UPDATED 10:51 A.M.: HERMON — The State Fire Marshal’s Office reports firefighthers found the body of a 9-year-old boy in a burning mobile home Tuesday .

Wyatt Parker,9, of Levant died in the fire. He was spending the night with his two cousins.

Ashlyn Parker, 10, who was rescued from her bedroom by firefighters, is in critical condition at Eastern Maine Medical Center. A third child, John Parker, 8, was able to escape the burning home and flagged down motorists to help about 7:15 a.m.

The mobile home at 292 Wing Road was occupied by John Parker, Wyatt’s uncle, and Lasey Reidy, who left the children alone after they got up to do some errands. Ashlyn and John are the children of the two adults.

The two parents returned to the mobile home as firefighters were arriving. A team of five Fire Marshal investigators is trying to pinpoint the cause. They believe the fire started in the kitchen.
