In the article titled “George Takei responds to judge’s assertion that government can’t strip away dignity” in the Sun Journal of Thursday July 2, it appears that Mr. Takei completely missed the point that Judge Thomas was trying to make.

Human dignity is innate and comes from God because we are made in His image and likeness. No act of government can change that. It is enshrined in our Declaration of Independence.

Of course liberal activists are against this belief because they feel that government should get to decide who is worthy of dignity. For example they feel unborn children and elderly who are “a burden to society” have no innate dignity and therefore their lives can be taken away from them. So it is understandable why they take this position.
