SUMNER – The Congregational Church of East Sumner will host Vacation Bible School for local youths ages four through grade six from 9 a.m. to noon from Monday, July 20, through Friday, July 24.
Activities will be led by the Senior Youth Group from Hope Presbyterian Church of Spotsylvania, Va., assisted by adults from both churches and the pastor, Rev. Howard MacMullen. The theme for the week is “The teachings of Christ”. Each morning will consist of lessons, songs, crafts, snacks and games. The week will conclude with a presentation for family and friends and an ice cream social at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 24.
If possible, children should come at 8:30 a.m. on Monday for registration purposes.
During the week, youths who are not involved in VBS will be working at several locations assisting homeowners, hauling and stacking wood and closing in the open area under the Increase Robinson Library. They will also be hiking, swimming and having evening meals with community families.
