AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library’s children’s department will host a three-week “Fun with French Story Time” with local teacher Doris Bonneau at 10 am Thursdays, July 23 and 30 and Aug. 6, in the Maggie Trafton Program Room, 49 Spring St.
This story and song program is part an initiative that the library has undertaken through a mini-grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation to introduce local children to the French language and celebrate the rich Franco-American culture of the community.
In addition to the story programs, the library will offer French Literacy Activity Kits that families of young children can check out of the library to learn about the French language. There will be four initial kits on the topics of colors, numbers, families and home. The kits will be available to check out beginning Thursday, Aug. 6, and will be featured in Bonneau’s story program.
