Jay Baptist celebrates America
JAY — Jay Baptist Church held a service of awareness and gratefulness for its great nation on July 5. The hymns and choruses reflected these beliefs in the singing of “God Bless America,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” “O God, Our Help in Ages Past,” “‘V’ is For Victory,” and “The Star-Spangled Banner,” and also in the choir presentation of “We Salute You, Land of Liberty.”
The Rev. Gary Bestwick’s message, “Problems and Solutions in Contemporary America,” Ezekiel 22, gave pause to the comparison of those days to today’s world and the warnings to be observed when people turn away from God.
