WATERFORD — The third in a series of four summer breakfasts will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, at the Wilkins Community House at the foot of Plummer Hill Road, next to the Waterford Congregational Church.
In its 62nd year, the breakfast offers a menu of freshly baked muffins, scrambled eggs, pancakes, real Maine maple syrup, bacon, sausage, donuts, coffee and orange juice. The price for each breakfast is $8 for adults, $4 for child-sized portions, and free for children younger than 5. The proceeds from the breakfasts contribute to the maintenance of the Wilkins Community House.
The Wilkins House Basement Yard Sale will be held the same day from 7:30 to 11 a.m. New items appear at each of the sales.
This summer’s final breakfast will be on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
Food scraps will be sent to a local pig farm (separating bacon and sausage). Remaining muffins and donuts are donated to the local Food Pantry. Approximately 50 volunteers mostly from Waterford serve in the kitchen and dining room.
