WASHINGTON — Former Maine legislator Greg Nadeau testified at a U.S. Senate hearing Wednesday, working toward his confirmation as the next head of the Federal Highway Administration.
Nadeau, brother of Lewiston Deputy City Administrator Phil Nadeau, is President Barack Obama’s choice for the position.
Greg Nadeau testified before the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works. U.S. Sens. Angus King, I-Maine, and Susan Collins, R-Maine, testified in favor of confirming Nadeau.
Nadeau has served as deputy administrator of the Federal Highway Administration at the U.S. Department of Transportation since 2009 and as acting administrator from July 2014 to February 2015.
Nadeau served at the Maine Department of Transportation from 2002 to 2009 in various capacities, including deputy commissioner for policy, planning and communications from 2004 to 2009 and director of policy and communications from 2002 to 2004.
