1931 – 2015

ENGLEWOOD, Fla. — William Edward Hanson passed away in Engelwood, Fla., on Thursday, July 9.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1931, in Lewiston, to Harry E. and Josie Hanson. He attended Lewiston schools and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1949. He then entered the U.S. Air Force, where he served in the Korean War with the Fourth Fighters’s Wing.
He married the love of his life, Dorothy Hanson, of Auburn in 1956. After his military service, Bill joined his dad in business at Hanson’s Service Station in Turner, for 20 years. Bill then built and operated the Snell Hill Mobile Home Park in Turner, until he and Dortothy retired to Florida in 1991.
Bill is survived by the love of his life, “Dottie,” of Englewood, Fla.; as well as a brother, James Hanson Sr. and his wife, Anne, of Turner; and a sister, Barbara Gilman of Englewood, Fla. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children.
