Guy Leston Hudson III

1948-2015

Guy Leston Hudson III, 66, passed away on July 10, 2015 in the comfort of his home in Phillips with his loving family by his side.

He was born on Aug. 28, 1948 in Middleboro, Mass, the son of Guy, Jr. and Alice (Denson) Hudson. He attended the schools of Middleboro, Mass and graduated from Middleboro High School in the class of 1967. On Aug. 30, 1969, Guy married Ann Mitchell in Taunton, Mass. They moved to Phillips in 1987.

He worked for Stratton Energy and Davco until ill health forced his retirement in 2004. Guy was a member of the Phillips Fire Dept, Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge, and was a fire fighter instructor for the State of Maine. He enjoyed working in his gardens and loved spending time with his granddaughters.

He is survived by; his wife of 45 years, Ann Hudson of Phillips; his daughter, Tammie Gould and husband James of Phillips; his two sons, Paul Hudson of Phillips, Kevin Hudson and partner Keith of Portland; his two granddaughters, Hope Gould of Phillips, Kasie Hudson of Phillips; his father, Guy L. Hudson Jr. of Middleboro, Mass.; his two sisters, Kathy Rhinehart of New York, and Linda Betts of Cornville.

Nancy Lee (Ellis) Morgan

1949-2015

Nancy Lee (Ellis) Morgan, 65 of Phillips, passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at CMMC in Lewiston where she had been a patient for the past two weeks, following a lengthy illness.

She was born on Aug. 14, 1949 in West Peru, the daughter of Ralph Chase and Julia Brackett Ellis Chase Rolfe. Nancy attended school in Phillips, graduating from Phillips High School and went on to earn an associate degree in Culinary Arts from SMVTI.

In 2000, she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of Maine in Farmington. Nancy worked for over 25 years at Forster Manufacturing transitioning from an hourly position to the Director of Human Resources. The last job Nancy held prior to her retirement was as Executive Director of the Tri-Valley United Way, an organization that Nancy and her husband David had been avid supporters of for years.

Nancy was also actively involved in numerous charity functions and organizations, sitting on the boards of many through the years. On Aug. 29, 1970, Nancy married David Morgan of Phillips. They resided on the river in Phillips where they raised their son Ryan. For the past three years they wintered in Zephyr Hills, Florida with their two cats, returning in the spring to their beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by; her loving husband of 45 years, David B. Morgan of Phillips; her son, Ryan D. Morgan and wife Iris and their children Kyla Morgan and Kelton Morgan, all of Farmington; her siblings, Gerald Ellis and wife Ronnie of Vermont, Anita Dunham and husband Jeffrey of Wilton, Fred Rolfe and wife Noralynn of Paris, Elizabeth (Snippy) Rolfe of Phillips; many in-laws, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by; her parents; her brothers, Rex Ellis and Dr. Lynn (Butch) Ellis; and her husband David’s parents, Montford (Spin) and Mary Morgan.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 10 a.m. to noon with funeral services to begin at noon, at the Phillips Congregational Church, 4 Sawyer St., Phillips. A reception will follow at Phillips Area Community Center (PACC), Depot Street, Phillips. Interment will be in the North Farmington Cemetery at a later date. Judith (Judy) Tracy Haggerty

1947-2015

Judith (Judy) Tracy Haggerty was born to Justin and Priscilla (Lovejoy) Tracy on Sept. 24, 1947 in Farmington, Maine. She entered Heaven on June 16th at the age of (67) years at her home in Norman, OK.

She graduated from Farmington High School and enrolled at the University of Maine receiving her Degree in Elementary Education. While in College she met and married the love of her life Charlie Haggerty on Aug. 9, 1969. Their marriage was for (45) years before she preceded him in death.

They made their home in Vermont and Judy taught school as a second grade teacher while her other passion in life was horses. She began teaching riding lessons and raising Registered Appaloosas. Charlie’s job took them to Oklahoma in (1973). They fell in love with the countryside east of Norman, purchased some land and there the beginning of HY TYMES RANCH began. Her love of children continued as a substitute teacher at Little Axe. She continued giving riding lessons and raising pure bred Applaloosa horses while traveling to horse shows and selling colts.

Judy would take in any kind of stray animals and nurse them back to health. She also did the same for young people that crossed her path in life. Five of those special people were Dotty, Chanel and Lynn, also Robert whom she loved and thought of as her own Grandson and Christopher as a close family member. They looked to her for guidance and direction which she provided with love in her heart that lasted a lifetime as they are all adults now living their lives as Judy’s love for them led the way.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leon Brent Tracy. Those who survive her include her husband Charlie of the home, (2) brothers; Michael Tracy (BJ) and family Eben Michael, Ethan Paul and Samuel James, Justin Tracy (Judy), and family Jessica Marie and Wyatt Thomas brother-in-law Albert Haggerty (Patricia) and family all of Maine; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pauline E. Breton

1937-2015

Pauline E. Breton, 78, a resident of Livermore Falls, passed away at Sandy River Center nursing home, Tuesday, July 14.

She was born Jan. 23, 1937, in Farmington, the daughter of Roland Luce and Freda (Tracy) Luce. She attended school in Farmington. On April 23, 1955, she married Conrad Breton. Pauline and Conrad had one daughter, Gloria (Breton) Maxwell, who passed away in 2012.

Pauline was a communicant and Eucharistic minister at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, where she also taught CCD for many years. She was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella.

Pauline worked as a foreman at Livermore Falls Shoe for many years.

She loved baking and was known for her very large bell collection.

Pauline is survived by her husband of 60 years, Conrad Breton; two brothers, Melvin Luce and his wife, Linda, of Massachusetts, and Linwood Luce of Chesterville; two sisters; Janice Town and her husband, Peter, of Kittery, and Evelyn McLeod and her husband, Steve, of Sanford; and one granddaughter, Kaylee Maxwell.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Maxwell; grandson, Richard Maxwell; and brother, Earle Luce and his wife, Sandy.

Jane M. Simoneau

1937-2015

Jane M. Simoneau, 77, a longtime resident of Jay, passed away Sunday, July 12, at her home.

She was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Alfred “Ted” Simoneau and Florence A. (Peary) Simoneau. She was a graduate of Jay High School and continued her education at Farmington Teachers College.

Enthusiastic for education, she worked as a second-grade teacher in Guam, Hawaii, and Maine in both Millinockett and Livermore Falls. She retired in 1995, after 34 years of service.

Avidly devoted to her faith, she was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay. She was also a member of the Maine Teachers Association, the National Teachers Association, the Retired Teachers Association of Androscoggin County and the Tri-Town Ministerial Association Food Bank. Jane cherished the outdoors, but had a special adoration for hiking with her nephews. She loved to travel and spent many summers at two of her favorite locations, Yellowstone National Park and Denali National Park, working in the gift shops. Most recently, she enjoyed traveling to New Port Richie, Fla., with her dear friend Pearl during the winter months.

She is survived by her sister, Joyce Poulin and her husband, Rene, of Jay; several nephews and their wives, Ted and Jackie Poulin of Alpharetta, Ga., Brian and Josie Poulin of Turner, Keith and Lynn Poulin of Timnath, Colo., and Jeff and Cheryl Marceau of Livermore. She is also survived by her grandnephews, Eric and Michelle Poulin of Eliot, Adam Poulin of Freeport, Joshua and Allison Marceau of Bath, Neil Poulin of Denver, Colo., Craig and Katie Poulin of Madison, Wis., Dana and Kyriel Poulin of Cazenovia, N.Y., Aaron Poulin of Schenectady, N.Y., Jacob and Samantha Marceau of Biddeford, Kurtis Brown of Old Town, Trevor Brown of Old Town; and one grandniece, Bethany Poulin of Glens Falls, N.Y., who all brought her incredible joy throughout her life.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Paul Marceau; and life-long friend, Pearl Berry.
