Library to hold silent auction
WAYNE — The Cary Memorial Library’s silent auction will begin with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, at the Williams House.
The auction will run until noon on Aug. 8. China, glassware, handcrafted jewelry, baskets, framed art and photography will be among the items up for bid.
The library is accepting donations for bid before Tuesday, July 28. The items can be dropped off at the library.

Community picnic is Aug. 8
GREENE — The Hunger Coalition of Greene, Leeds and Turner is sponsoring a community picnic Saturday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Greene Sports Field on Rec Drive.
Participants may eat prepared food (hot dogs, fries, salads, desserts) for a donation or they may bring their own food to eat.
There will be information, entertainment and games, and the event will happen rain or shine.
The picnic is sponsored by The Hunger Coalition of Greene, Leeds and Turner, a committee of the Rural Community Action Ministry).

Spy Camp investigates Turner
TURNER — Students ages 6 to 12 will take a fascination journey into the world of detection, forensics and classified information during Mad Science Spy Camp Monday to Friday, Aug. 10 to 14. The camp is presented by MSAD No. 52 Adult and Community Education, 486 Turner Center Road.
Kids will go undercover, decode messages from other agents using top secret tools and techniques. By the end of the week, young investigators will be equipped with take-home tools ranging from Spy Glasses to Secret Safes. Spy Camp includes several take-home projects.
Cost of the camp is $249.
