Society holds open houses

PARIS — The West Paris Historical Society will offer an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays of July and August.

The next regular meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 20. Bring your own box lunch.

The calendar drawing will be at 6 p.m. with brownies and ice cream.

Alice Kimball will present the program, “The History of Vintage Aprons,” at 7 p.m. Anyone who wishes to bring or wear an apron is welcome.

CPR class offered

OXFORD — A CPR and first aid class will be held at p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.

Instruction will include basic first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants and use of an automated external defibrillator.

On completion of the one-day class, a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association will be given. The certification is accepted for day/childcare providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-health care related professions.

Call to confirm the date. Groups may request to schedule a class at their convenience. Health care BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one-on-one.

The next scheduled class will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 4.

Public ham supper planned

PARIS — A public ham supper will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at VFW Post 9787, 58 Main St.

Cost is $8 for adults and $4 for ages 12 and under.

The meal is hosted by Amvets Post 777.

Bake sale to benefit homemakers

CHESTERVILLE — A benefit bake sale will be held at Tuesday, July 28, at the Chesterville Town Office on Dutch Gap Road. The sale will begin at 1 p.m. and be open until the food is gone .

The sale will benefit the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers to continue their free town events and charity work.
