MEXICO — The Board of Selectmen will discuss the possible sale of the Mexico Plaza building and an appointment to the Regional School Unit 10 School Board during their meeting 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, in the Calvin P. Lyons room at the Mexico Town Office.

Town Manager John Madigan said that the owner of the Mexico Plaza building on Main Street, who also owns similar buildings in Skowhegan and Sanford, sent a flyer to the Town Office indicating that he was attempting to sell the building.

The plaza is home to a Family Dollar store and three empty storefronts that are up for lease.

The Mexico Bureau of Motor Vehicles used to lease one of the buildings in the plaza, but in 2014, it was discovered that the plaza was located in the Androscoggin River flood zone. As a result, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles moved to a building in Rumford.

Other items on the agenda for the Board of Selectmen include:

* Renewal of the liquor license for Tommy Gun’s Pit Stop on Roxbury Road.

* The annual Maine Municipal Association elections for vice president and Executive Committee members.
