FARMINGTON — American Legion baseball continued to thrive in Franklin County this summer with the local representatives, the Flyers, finishing the season with a sparkling 13-6 record to finish second in Zone 2 regular season play.

Ryan Pratt finished the summer with a .364 batting average leading the Franklin County Flyers to a second place regular season finish in Zone 2 American Legion baseball play. Teammate Amos Herrin completed the season as the team’s top pitcher, sporting an impressive 1.086 ERA.

The Flyers blew through the early stages of the season, posting a 10-1 mark, before four straight losses sent them into a tailspin. Franklin County responded winning three straight to take second place but fell in the opening round of the playoffs.

Joining Pratt, at the top of the batting average list were, brother Andrew at .333, Herrin at .304 and Anthony Franchetti at .293. The Pratt brothers notched 20 hits each as team leaders in that department.

Franchetti led the Flyers with 11 RBI followed by Jake Davenport with 10.

Herrin and Evan Roberts provided plenty of fire power on the mound. Roberts followed in ERA with a solid 1.750 mark. Herrin finished the season at 4-2 while Roberts was 2-2. Both players pitched in six games.
