Legion committee elects new officers
RUMFORD — The Napoleon Ouellette Post 24, American Legion, executive committee recently elected new officers and changed some articles in the bylaws.
Legion dues are being raised from $30 to $35 because of the change in the dues at the department and national level.
Newly elected officers are Marcel Martineau, commander; William Petrie, first vice commander; Benny Bradley, second vice commander; Michael Dan Curato, adjutant; Tricia Shahan Thurston, finance officer; Randy Canwell, chaplain; Tom Sinclair, sergeant-at-arms; Ed Perry, historian; and Edward Roach, service officer. The Americanism position is currently open.
The executive committee members are Lester Prue, Urbain Arsenault, Don Roach and Nick Kelley. They were installed on April 15 at the District 5 meeting.
Church to host public supper
WATERFORD — North Waterford Church will host a public supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4.
Homemade casseroles, baked beans, brown breads and salads are among the items that will be served.
The cost for this all-you-can-eat-program is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12. Everyone is welcome.
Mexico High ’50 to meet
MEXICO — The Mexico High School Class of 1950 will have a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at the Covered Wagon.

Heritage club to meet
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will have its monthly meeting at noon Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Sam’s Italian Sandwich Shop on Route 2.
They are planning for their annual Lithuanian Picnic scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19.
Anyone interested in helping with the Picnic Committee is welcome.
Olga Richardson will make a presentation following the meeting. Everyone is invited to attend.
Weary Club holding annual meeting
NORWAY — Members of The Weary Club will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the public meeting room at the Norway Town Office for the annual meeting.
The meeting will discuss updates on the activities of The Weary Club. Members are encouraged to attend.

PARIS — The Floyd A. Harlow Jr. VFW Post 9787 will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 58 East Main St.
Historical society to meet
GREENWOOD — The Greenwood Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, in Locke Mills.
Gordon and Owen Morgan will present a program on Samuel Morgan.
