Friends of Pettingill seek donations
LEWISTON — The Friends of Pettingill are collecting yard sale donations to benefit Pettingill School Park.
Donations can be made by calling FoP Vice Chairman Bill Maroldo at 795-1386, or Treasurer Carolyn Court at 376-6997, then dropped off at 405 College St. The yard sale will be held on Friday, Aug. 21, at the same location next to the park.
Republican City Committee to meet
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Republican City Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 30, at 415 Lisbon St. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
All Lewiston Republicans are encouraged to attend. The committee will discuss bylaws revisions and local welfare reform efforts.

Summer Sunday church services
MINOT — The Minot Center Congregational Church will hold annual summer services at 9 a.m. Sundays, Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23.
Androscoggin Pomona Grange will hold Sunday Go To Church on Aug. 2. The old bell will peal in the steeple to welcome those attending.
Lifetree holding faith, science workshop
LEWISTON — The relationship between faith and science will be discussed at Lifetree Cafe at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at 1919 Lisbon Road.
The program, titled “Faith and Science: Discoveries from the Scientist who led the Human Genome Project,” features a filmed interview with Dr. Francis Collins, a world-renowned geneticist noted for his leadership in directing the human genome project.
The hour-long program is free of charge. Snacks and beverages are available.
