FARMINGTON — The Emery Community Arts Center on the UMF campus is pleased to present a summer concert entitled, “Tori and Colin, with Love From Jersey.” The concert is free and open to the public and takes place in the Emery Performance Space at 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13.
This lively musical program features Tori Britt on vocals and Colin Britt on vocals and piano, joined by local artist Mike French on guitar and back-up vocals. The musical performance offers something for everyone with popular songs from the contemporary and traditional American songbook, Broadway standards, contemporary theater, and Disney with a dash of rock and pop.
The Britts have performed throughout the New England and Tri-State area, including multiple performances at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford.
Victoria Britt has performed theater regionally, in New York City and all over the world with Disney Cruise Lines. She has also appeared as a featured performer on NBC’s “The Today Show” and as a top 50 contestant on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.” She graduated from the Hartt School—the comprehensive performing arts conservatory of the University of Hartford.
Originally from Maine, Colin Britt has directed music for productions with Community Little Theatre and the All Student Theater Project in Lewiston-Auburn, the West Hartford Summer Arts Festival, the Summer Place Players and Playhouse on Park in Connecticut. He has served as music director of Marquand Chapel at Yale, on the adjunct conducting faculty at the Hartt School, as the conductor of the Hartford Chorale Chamber Singers and as the assistant music director at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Hartford.
He currently serves as music director for Grace Church Van Vorst in Jersey City, New Jersey, and teaches undergraduate conducting and directs the Rutgers University Choir. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Hartt School and a master’s degree in choral conducting from the Yale School of Music and Yale Institute of Sacred Music.
