WATERFORD — On Sunday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, DeerWood Farm and Gardens in Waterford will host a daylily dig.
DeerWood’s retail business is closing this year as the Hendricks switch over to a landscape- and building-focused business. They will still use daylilies for that, but have way more than they can ever use. Buyers should bring their own shovels and five gallon pots/pails. The cost of the clumps will be $10-$15 per clump. Some of these plants would sell at that price for two fans.
A portion of the proceeds from the daylily dig will be going to Karen Paul of Bethel. Paul’s late mother loved daylilies; she also had a hearing problem later in life. In memory of her mom, Paul plans to use the sales of the daylilies to benefit other local residents who have hearing impairment.
DeerWood Farm and Gardens is located at 571 Norway Road (Route 118) in Waterford.
