ROXBURY – The Roxbury ATV Riders will host its annual Mystery Night Ride Saturday, Aug. 15, with all funds raised going to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program in Scarborough.
Club President Mike Worthley said the ride typically attracts more than 100 people.
“Last year, we had 68 four-wheelers, and 130 people total,” he said.
The ride will kick off at 5 p.m. with a dinner at Worthley’s home featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and fries.
“People who don’t own a four-wheeler can come for the dinner and donate some money to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program,” Worthley said.
The ride will begin at 7 p.m. in Roxbury and circling through Byron.
“It’s a 27-mile ride, and we’re going to take our time,” Worthley said.
A young girl from the region who is recovering from cancer will be along for the ride.
“There’s a little girl named Hayley who, after receiving chemotherapy, got an infection in her jaw and had all of her baby teeth removed,” Worthley said. “Her mother ended up starting a tooth fairy fund, where people can donate money to help with the recovery. Any money that people donate to the fund during the Mystery Night Ride will also go to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program.”
