1939 – 2015
LEWISTON — Julien A. “Bill” Chasse, 76, passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, at Central Maine Medical Center, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Lewiston on May 26, 1939, the son of Henri and Marie (Martin) Chasse. Bill served for 11 years with the U.S. Army and Army National Guard during the Cold War and Vietnam War.
Following his service to his country, Bill became a journeyman trainee, until he was fully licensed as a plumber. He was also a jack-of-all-trades.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, which included his camp in Winthrop, doing puzzles, watching western movies and car shows.
Survivors include his wife, Lina Chasse of Lewiston; one son, Gerry Chasse and wife, Roberta, of Monmouth; two daughters, Denise Shorette and husband, Joey, of Naples, Fla., and Sandi Guimond and husband, Ray, of Lewiston; two stepdaughters, Kimberly Doucette and partner, Jason Fenderson, of Lewiston, and Stephanie Field and husband, Thomas, of Walpole; and one foster daughter, Jennifer Goodspeed of Poland. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Nicholas and Matthew DeWitt, Courtney Coulombe and Lauren and Emily Chasse; as well as two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Ella Rae Coulombe.
