‘Souper’ planned for Aug. 14

CHESTERVILLE — The Chesterville Grange will be holding a public “souper” supper on Friday, Aug. 14, serving between 5 and 6:30 p.m.

Homemade soups, chowders and dessert are on the menu.

Admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children.

Lovell to host 40th annual Arts and Artisans Fair

LOVELL — Lovell will host the 40th annual Arts and Artisans Fair to benefit the Charlotte Hobbs Memorial Library from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the New Suncook School on Route 5.

The fair is an all-juried craft show of over 50 artists with many favorites returning from previous years as well as many new participants this year.

The fair will feature jewelry, weaving, painting, pottery, glass sculpture, and woodturning. There will be also be a used book sale and a raffle to benefit the library. Admission is free.

Community garden to host basil workshop

NORWAY — The Alan Day Community Garden, 26 Whitman St., will host Presto! Pesto! from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 15.

The workshop will use fresh basil to make three different pesto recipes. Participants should bring a jar to bring some home. Recipes and ingredients will be provided.

Hebron to host lawn sale

HEBRON — The Hebron Historical Society will host a lawn sale at 358 Paris Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22.

American Red Cross to host volunteer training

PORTLAND — The American Red Cross will host Zero2Hero training from Friday, Aug. 21, to Sunday, Aug. 23.

Participants who complete the program will become trained disaster service volunteers in three days.

Wilton to host hunter’s safety course

WILTON — The Wilton Fish & Game Association will host hunter’s safety courses from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Thursday, Sept. 17.

The cost for this program is $5.
