WILTON — Police said a New Sharon man is charged with stealing a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado from Temple Road on Sunday night.

Michael Davis, 20, was arrested by Maine State Police Trooper Reid Bond on a charge of theft and warrants for violation of condition of release. He was taken into custody Monday night at a residence on Cemetery Road, Wilton Police Chief Heidi Wilcox said.

Franklin County Deputy Kevin Hartley found the truck parked behind the post office in East Wilton, which is in the vicinity of Temple Road, she said.

Sgt. Matthew Casavant of the Maine State Police and his K-9 tracked from the truck to where Davis was found, she said.

Police received information that Davis might be found on Cemetery Road on Monday night, she said.

Four vehicles with keys left in them were taken from Munson Road and Depot and Temple streets within the past 10 days. All four have been recovered. There was no substantial damage done to the vehicles, she said.
